Transmission Line Construction (J1610 Project)

Description: The City of Springfield is seeking bids to construct a new approximately 1.5-mile, 138-kV overhead transmission-line segment for the J1610 Alpha Substation interconnect project. The work includes three new steel structures and their foundations, ACSS conductors and shield/counterpoise wires, removal of two existing wood monopoles, and site restoration. The contract requires Illinois prevailing-wage compliance, 10% bid security and performance bonding, and completion in time for the line to be in service by May 1, 2027.
