The University of South Carolina is soliciting bids from a qualified contractor to remove the existing fire alarm system and replace it with a new system, including all devices, at Palmetto House in Spartanburg. The project uses a design-bid-build delivery method, with the work scheduled for summer 2027 and an EL5 license required as a special standard of responsibility. Bids must be hand delivered or mailed to the university's procurement office in Columbia by the October 20, 2026 deadline.
Work consists of retrofit and replacement of the existing campus fire alarm systems at the international airport. The project will provide fully addressable, code-compliant, non-proprietary fire alarm systems connected through the existing campus fiber optic network. The centralized system will receive fire alarm, supervisory, and trouble notifications from connected facilities.
