The meeting focused on the regional rail strategy, specifically discussing the advisability of maintaining the organization given the dissolution of the Northstar line and the status of potential rail projects to Duluth. The board reviewed its financial status, noting approximately $5 million in reserves derived from land sales and tax revenues, and discussed potential future expenditures for transportation-related projects such as pedestrian infrastructure improvements on Crooked Lake Boulevard and potential involvement in Northern Lights projects.
