King University Chapel Chapel
The content is a transcript of a chapel service featuring Shannon Miller, a King University alum, who shared her experience of transitioning identities, including stepping away from a worship leader position, which led to writing music. She discussed her album "Pressed But Not Crushed" and the importance of deriving identity from being a child of God, referencing passages from 2 Corinthians. The service also featured musical performances, including songs titled "Child of God," "Carousel," and "You See Me," where the speaker related themes of desperation, sinking responsibilities, and finding peace at the feet of Jesus, inspired by the biblical story of the sinful woman in Luke 6.

The event was the last chapel service of the semester. Key discussions included logistical differences for the day, such as card scanning occurring upon exit, and the reception of the sacrament of the Lord's Supper, which was open to all Christians. The service also served as a farewell to Michelle Fagin, who is retiring from her role in worship, and featured a final address by Dr. Craig McDonald, an English professor who is also retiring after this semester. Dr. McDonald's address focused on life being a miracle, the importance of obedience (hearing), and the concept of kenosis (self-emptying) as exemplified by Christ, urging attendees to see the image of God in others and act accordingly, while also confessing his own struggles with aligning belief and action, particularly referencing a recent traffic infraction.
